Sick girl

Yep, it happened again. Hailey has been sick. It seems like she was just sick not long ago. When she got up on Friday morning she told me she had a headache. I meant to give her some Tylenol before school, but I forgot. Then after school she came home and rested some. Then she came out and just wanted to lay on the couch. After a few minutes, I went and sat beside her and brushed her hair away from her face. She was a fireball! I took her temp and it was 102. I looked at her throat and it had a couple of red specks, but nothing bad. I was worried though, we had a note come home from school the week before about strep throat going around. The next morning she still had a slight fever and her throat looked terrible! Lots of red spots! I took her to the weekend clinic and sure enough she had strep! I made her stay in her room all day away from Harris and Daddy. I stayed in there with her most to the time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't get it! I get it soooo easy! After the 24 hours and 3 rounds of antibiotic I finally let Hailey come out. We took Daddy to the airport and came home. Harris was so glad to get his big sister back that he just laid on her for a long time. I hope she really was past the contagious part! I hope he doesn't get it! I feel like every few hours I'm checking someones throat now! And thankfully school is out on Monday so Hailey has till Wednesday to get all well!

Artist # 2

Harris has been watching Hailey and is starting to draw pictures. I think its so cute! Here is his latest picture. He did the whole picture by himself, but Mommy added the hair! Harris says this is a happy face!

Skating Weekend

Last weekend, Jamie and Lisa invited us to go skating with them. We haven't been skating since Hailey started cheerleading. We were so excited to go! But Hailey had forgotten a lot of what she had learned. She had a hard time trying to keep up with Jaycie. I promised her that I would take her to skate lessons the next day. So at 10 am the next day we were skating again! She really picked it back up and did great! She was so excited to show Daddy what she had learned, that we had to go back on Sunday!

Swim

What a big swim day! Hailey was the only one is her class today and she worked really hard. At the end of class the instructor let Hailey dive to the bottom of the pool for rings. Hailey dives down 8' in no time and comes back up with the ring. Then her instructor said that she has really watched Hailey and knows that she will love the new stroke that she will learn in the next swim session... The Dolphin. This is the beginning move to the Butterfly stroke. So far Hailey loves it! The instructor showed her one time and she was off! After I took this video, Hailey did the Dolphin the entire length of the pool, all by herself! Her instructor was very proud of how fast she picked it up. She did say, that Hailey kicks a little more than the actual move goes, but for her very first time, she looks great!

Harris didn't have such a good swim day. His 'ear pugs' kept falling out, the water was burning his eyes and he was just plain grumpy. Oh well. Everyone has their off days!

Back to School... Ice... Chuck E Cheese

Wow! What a big day! I took Hailey for her first day back to school after the Christmas Holiday. And can you believe, Mrs. Wingo is back!? Yea! This is going to be great for Hailey! She was so excited! After Harris and I had been home for a few minutes we saw the ice forming. Harris loved it! He would touch the ice and say 'It cold!' Then after school Hailey had a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. It was a big day and both kids were exhausted (after they came down from their birthday cake sugar rush)!

New Year Weekend

What a great start to the New Year. Daddy had to work some of the weekend, but other than that, we have had a great family weekend. On Saturday we took about an hour drive to see some lakefront property. Later, after naps, we went to the park to play then we went to Frescos for dinner. We have never been there and it was pretty good. Even Hailey ate all her food!

Sunday, I taught my class at church and it was crazy! I had 10 wild kids today! And, yes, Harris is one of those! Then later in the afternoon we took the kids to Leapin Lizards. We hadn't been there in a long time and we thought it would be fun for them. They had a blast! Both kids had such red faces when we left and we were laughing so hard at them! Then it was off to Pizza Inn for dinner. We got there right when they opened the buffet so it was all fresh and hot and yummy!

Wow! Can you believe it?? 2009 Already?! I think this is going to be a great year. Hailey and Harris are both at such wonderful and cute ages. Hailey thinks she is 5 going on 16. She is so smart and is doing wonderfully in Pre-K. I think she will be doing even better now that her teacher is finally going to start teaching. For those of you who don't know... Hailey's teacher hasn't been in the class at all this year because she broke her knee. Hailey has had 4 subs this year and we are so excited to have her teacher. Hailey is our princess. She loves anything Barbie, dresses, princess or pink. Harris is amazing us every day. He is a comedian! He is constantly making us laugh. He is a smart boy, but he likes to hold it in and not let you know what he has learned until HE is ready. Of course, Harris is all BOY! He loves firetrucks and trains. He loves the dirt, loves to fall down and loves to wrestle with Daddy.

I can hardly wait to see what 2009 has in store for us!

Today we all slept a little late and so we had a late lunch. Jamie and her girls met us up at Black Eyed Pea. I guess we have a tradition of eating at Black Eyed Pea on New Year's Day now. I think this was our family's 3rd or 4th year now. I love how they give everyone a small sample of peas so that everyone can have their dose of good luck! I always order a side of peas anyways!

New Year's Eve

William had to work all day, but he had the great idea to go to dinner with my grandparents, Nana & Daddy Don for New Years Eve. I called them and they dropped their plans for dinner and came with us to H3. The food was good and we all had a great time!
