Great Weekend

Wow! The weekend went by so fast, it all seems like a blur! On Saturday, we took Harris for a makeup day at My Gym. I stayed in the front with Hailey while Daddy got to experience the fun with Harris. They had a good time. Then we went to one of our favorite places for lunch, McAlister's. After lunch we went shopping at Kohl's then home for naps. Wow Saturday is basically gone now! Sunday, we skipped church and made waffles for the kids on my new George Foreman grill! So far I love this thing! Then we all got ready and took the kids to Emler's Open House. They got to have free swim for awhile. They both had a great time. Harris even went down the big slide! He went down the slide at the old Emler, but halfway down, he fell backwards, bonked his head, and basically did a back flip coming out of it. It scared him so bad he wouldn't go near it. H went down this new slide several time! Way to go Harris!After swimming, we went to one of our old favorite restaurants, Anamia's. Then we went rock climbing with Daddy and his friend Aaron. We didn't pay for the kids and I, but they let us climb a little too! Why do the weekends go by so fast, especially if Daddy is home to play with us?Oh, and Hailey is due to loose her first tooth any day now! Her and Daddy wiggled it all weekend, and they even tried to pull once. They didn't try hard, just a slight tug. Hailey can't wait for it to come out! She is even excited to see the hole where the tooth would have been!

Family Movie Night

I think we are going to start a new Hennington Family ritual. Tonight we had family movie night. We all got in our jammies, and rented a Pay Per View movie, Open Season 2. It was pretty good. Harris got restless, but Hailey loved it. I think we are all looking forward to doing this again!

New Bicycle

Friday night, William and I took the kids out for a bike ride. Hailey was on her bike and Harris was on his tricycle. This was Harris' first time to ride around the whole neighborhood on his tricycle. We didn't know he had gotten so good at it! Apparently, he has a tricycle at school and loves to ride! So we spent Saturday and Sunday looking for him a bicycle. After many stores and much ado at one store, Harris has a new bike! He loves it! It is a Diego bike and he has a Spiderman helmet. He looks like such a big boy!!! I know, I know... my baby is gone. He IS a big boy now!

While we were on our bike ride, we realised that Hailey is outgrowing her bike. We told her that if she learns how to ride her bike without her training wheels, we will let her pick out a new bike. She tried it one night and was scared to death! I got a picture of her smiling, but you can still see the fear on her face! She wanted the training wheels back on, so they are on again now. Maybe she will try again soon!

Hailey, Mommy Time

Today Harris was getting his picture made at the park so I took that time to be with Hailey. I promised her some Hailey Mommy time. She loves the one on one time. One of the parks we went to had beautiful tulips! Hailey has acquired Mommy's love of tulips. When she saw them she took off running towards them. She was in a great mood and was full of poses! She would pose for me, and tell me when to snap the picture. Then she would jump up and run to me, to see the picture on the camera. She did most of the poses on her own. I just let her go. She was having a great time. And when she said she was done, I let her go play. She was so funny! We saw ducks, tulips and played on the park play equipment. We had a great time together. I love it when she is in these great moods.

Spring Break Mini Vacation

This week was spring break and we wanted to do something fun with the kids. William was able to go into work late on Tuesday. So, Monday night, we went to the big city of Bedford! Even though we were only 15 minutes from home, the kids really thought we were on vacation. We stayed in a hotel, swam in an indoor pool and ate the hotel breakfast. The kids loved the Texas shaped waffles for breakfast! The best part of being so close to home was that I was still able to get Harris and I to the doctor in the middle of our vacation. Harris' allergies are going crazy this spring and I had a sinus infection. All in all we had fun, and the kids did great at the hotel!

New Play Place

A couple of weeks ago, we found this new indoor place to play. I took the kids there for the first time and they had a blast. They are already asking to go back. Its indoor climbing, dress up play, a merry go round bicycle, and toys. The cost is great and the kids wear themselves out! Plus they allow us to bring food in so we can make an afternoon of it!

Ft. Worth Botanical Garden

What a beautiful weekend! We had to get out and enjoy the weather. We decided after church, to pack a picnic and go to the Ft. Worth Botanical Garden. We had a picnic blanket, ate lunch, and then we did lots of wandering around. The kids had fun running and playing in the open spaces. Harris even made a friend who invited him to play a game of kids badminton with him. It was a beautiful and awesome day! We all really enjoyed the day, and all of our family time together. We hope you got to enjoy the weekend too!

Hailey Tree

I was beginning to think that our tree wouldn't bloom this year, but it finally happened! Almost overnight, the entire tree was filled with beautiful white blooms. I took Hailey out to see it and she was so excited to see the Hailey tree all white. For those of you who don't know or may not remember, when we moved into the house the tree that was there had died. Soon after Hailey was born, I picked out the Bradford Pear tree to take its spot. Our builder came and replace the tree. I said that we had that tree put in just for Hailey. Hailey has always called that tree the Hailey tree. (When we finally get a tree in the back yard that will be the Harris tree.) Anyway, since Hailey is so beautiful, I just had to get her picture with her tree. I think I got several great shots. Let me know what you think about our beautiful girl and her tree! And of course we had to get a picture of Harris!

New Gymboree

Harris started asking me in late Jan. or early Feb. if we could go back to Gymboree class. I took him last year for 3 months, until Hailey got out of school. I checked into the classes for his age and the only thing they have is a class where I drop him off for 2 hours. That's not what I wanted. I want the time to play with him. So I found a place closer to us called My Gym. Harris calls it 'New Gymboree'. He loves it there! Every week they change things and bring out new things. This keeps it interesting for him. But they do leave a few of the basic things, his favorite being the ball pit! He spends lots of time jumping in and playing in there! After the trial class, I decided to go ahead and sign us up for three months.

3 year check up

Thursday, March 5th, Harris had an appt for his big 3 year check up. He now starts getting big boy check ups. He wasn't real sure about the blood pressure cuff. He told me, "It squeeze me!" All in all we have a healthy boy. He gained about 4 lbs and grew 2 inches in the past year, bringing him to 30 lbs. even, and 36.5 inches. Harris loves to stand on the scale and to get his height checked. He didn't like when the dr had to keep listening to his heart. She listened to his heart several times, and even had him to lay down to listen. In the end we found out that he has a heart murmur. It has scared us, but the dr says she is going to keep a close eye on it. With my kids past history, the dr knows we will be back often, and she plans to check him every time we come in. She said that if anything changes or if she feels that we need to, she will send us for an echo cardiogram. So right now there is not much we can do. I have been on the internet reading a lot about heart murmurs and it seems that a lot of them are 'innocent' and never really effect the person. We are hoping that is the case with Harris.
