Harris' School Halloween Party

Harris' class had a Halloween party today. I stayed to help with the party and take pictures of Harris. We were glad that the kids got to dress up... this way Harris got to wear his second Halloween costume! Today, he was a Dalmatian from 101 Dalmatians.

After we got to school, Harris sat down in his spot to wait for everyone else. It's amazing what he knows to do at school!

As soon as everyone was ready, they all got lined up to start Trick or Treating. They go to all the other classes to Trick or Treat.

And the last stop is by the school office.
When Trick or Treating is done, it's time for the class picture.

And after the pictures, comes snack time! Or today they call it, party time! The kids get a cookie and punch and then get to see their goody bags for a minute. They don't really get to play with their things, they have to wait until they get home.

But once the party is done, it's back to business as usual.

Bye Bye, Cutie Pie Harris!

Trunk or Treat # 1

We love to go Trick or Treating, and Trunk or Treating! Julie asked us to go Trunk or Treating at her church. So we got the kids all dressed up and off we went.
But when we got there, Julie had just left. We decided to go ahead and walk around. But we didn't get to walk around long, they were closing everything up!
Thankfully, there were still a few trunks open. And the kids made a few friends.

Hailey loves to show off her tail!
The church had a pumpkin patch too. So we wandered over to take a few pics and maybe buy a pumpkin. But we were told the pumpkin patch didn't even open to sell pumpkins today! Oh well! I got this cute shot of the kids!
Is there anything cuter than a dinosaur and a leopard princess kitty in the middle of pumpkins?? I didn't think so!

Elvis!

A couple of days ago, Hailey and I went to a BBQ restaurant to pick up dinner after her cheer practice. That evening they had Elvis there. We got to the restaurant right before he started to perform. Hailey really liked how he was dressed and she went up to say hi. And wouldn't you know I had my camera! I got a picture of Hailey with him before I got our food.

After I got our food, I started to leave, but Hailey really wanted to hear him sing. So we stayed for a couple of songs. Elvis actually came over and started dancing with her. She loved every minute of it! And now, she is a HUGE Elvis fan! So as we were leaving, one of the ladies who works with Elvis, told us that he would be in the grocery store parking lot in a couple of days. Oh, that excited Hailey! She has been begging me to go ever since!
So, tonight, we went and sat in the parking lot and heard Elvis sing. Hailey got her picture made with him again. Honey came up to hear Elvis and when Daddy got home from out of town, he came up and sat with us too!

Now Hailey is wanting to know when Elvis is coming back again. She understands that this is not the real Elvis. But Elvis' performances came at a great time. The following week was Red Ribbon (Drug Free) week at Hailey's school. I was able to explain in 6 year old terminology, that Elvis died from taking too much of the wrong medicine, or drug, and that's how he died. She said, "Oh, I know! Just like Michael Jackson!" Lesson learned!

Campfire Stories

This year we went to the city's 3rd annual Campfire Stories. I didn't realize this was the city's 3rd year, but I knew it was our 3rd year though! We have been all three years. We love Campfire Stories!

We take our own marshmallows and the city supplies the campfire and the stories.

This year the kids got brave and started roasting their own marshmallows.

But my kids are picky... they only like them lightly toasted! If the marshmallow catches on fire, its trash!

The weather was perfect! We only needed light jackets. Harris and Hailey acted wonderfully! They roasted their marshmallows and actually sat still listening to the two stories!
And you know Hailey... she got in a posing mood as we were leaving! (But of course, I don't mind!)

Soccer / Basketball

Lots of people keep telling me that I should start Harris in soccer. Harris has never seemed interested in soccer. But he loves basketball! I recently found a class that was combined, soccer and basketball. I figured this way we could see if he was interested in soccer and give him his love of basketball. It didn't take me long to learn, Harris does not like soccer! He is all basketball! The class does not allow parents to watch, except for the last one. Today was the last class and I got to watch how well Harris does. He was very grumpy when he found out they were starting with soccer... look at the look I got! He still did most of what was asked of him, but he didn't smile about it!

But when the teacher said it was time to put away the soccer balls and get out the basketballs, Harris was all smiles!
He is definitely a lefty, and loves to dribble a ton! He has a little trouble throwing the ball up, but then, he is only three!

Now, if we could just get him a little height, he may make a great basketball player!
Go Harris!!

Tooth # 6

Yes, it's that time again. Hailey has now lost 6 teeth! Whew! And she is getting tired of this. Don't get me wrong, she loves the money part. But she is getting really tired of the teeth coming out. It's all happening so fast! This time we were trying to get tooth # 6 and tooth # 7. But Hailey cried so much for so long that we only got the one tooth. And by the time we got it, it was getting too late at night, so the tooth fairy didn't come. She had to come the next night.

Hailey is funny about the tooth pulling process... She cries a lot before we get the tooth out. Then she cries while she is rinsing. But once the tooth is out and she has rinsed her mouth, she loves it! She sticks her tongue through the hole and says all sorts of different words to see how they sound now. She is such a funny girl!

My Birthday

What a great birthday! This birthday was very different from my birthday last year... much better! A couple of days before my birthday, Honey came over to watch the kids so William and I could go out to dinner. We went to Chili's and had a great time just sitting and talking and having some alone time. And of course we splurged and got the Molten Chocolate Lava Cake... Yummy!

Then on my birthday, my wonderful family took me to On The Border. It was a great night visiting with everyone. My grandmother even brought my favorite cake... Red Velvet!

After dinner, the waiters sang to me

then we all ate cake!

We quickly got a family picture (Thanks mom!)

so we could leave. I had the worse headache ever! I was so thankful for all of my family being with me, but I so happy to get home, put the kids to bed, take some meds and get to bed myself!
Thanks, everyone for coming to my birthday dinner!
Happy Birthday to me!

Trinity Homecoming Parade

Hailey's cheer association joins Trinity High School for their homecoming parade. We rode in the back of the coach's truck, while our football boys rode in a trailer, behind the truck. Both Hailey and Harris had fun wearing their mum and garter and throwing out candy to the kids on the side of the road. Of course, Harris wanted to eat the candy, but he did an awesome job of throwing the candy out!
Getting ready to leave for the parade.

Lions Cheerleaders in the back of the truck.

Mommy got to ride, too!

The kids when the parade was over. The sun went down and there were all so cold!

Junie B Jones

Hailey loves Junie B Jones books, and we both love going to plays. So when I saw that Junie B Jones was coming into town, I knew I had to take Hailey. William was going to keep Harris and I got tickets for Hailey and I. But of course, at the last minute, William got called out of town. Thankfully, Honey was able to save the day! Hailey and I were still able to go. It was a great play and we had a wonderful time together. What can be better than Hailey/Mommy time seeing a great play? And we can't wait for November... we are going to go see Santa Clause is Coming to Town!
Hailey with our tickets when we got to our seats!
After the intermission, they had all the kids with September/October birthdays to come up in front of the stage. Then they had the whole audience sing them Happy Birthday.

Hailey right after the show.
Hailey loves getting her picture made with the characters. Here she is with Junie B...
and with Junie B's best friend, 'That Grace'.
